Project Noolaham is a non‐profitable, collective and voluntary endeavor aimed at preserving Sri Lankan Tamil related publications and research papers in digital format in order to make them available to and for the benefit of all those who are able to access the internet. The Model was aimed at building a long‐term future for Sri Lankan based Tamil digital library projects on the internet.

The primary objective of this project is to record the various voices of the people, especially those occupying the margins of society. Operating in the social spaces closely related to Sri Lanka’s Tamil speaking communities, aims at recording, preserving and engaging with the forms of arts and culture associated with these communities. It also aims to specialize in print medium, visual medium, radio broadcasting and internet medium covering a range of social, cultural, political and economical issues. As an independent body, project will bring together different social groups, and organizations representing conflicting ideological positions.

Virtual Learning Environments Platform 

This initiative is specially the case for many students from North and East of Sri Lanka, who have been deprived of vital educational resources due to the long civil war.  There exist a significant youth population whose education was disrupted and need vocational training.  Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) made possible by emerging Internet based educational technologies provide a great cost-effective opportunity to bring quality educational resources to these students and youth.

Research Initiatives Platform

Primary objectives of this initiatives as a space where ideas can integrate into shaping discourses, and then into policies. Constructing a research institute that coordinates the existing talents and aims to provide independent spaces for their interaction and integration. This institute facilitates researchers by providing them with audience, interacting spaces and discussion forums where they can discuss issues upon their research. This Project has evolved around the concepts of Virtual Research Environment, Statistical Quantitative Research, Knowledgeable Supportive and Valuable Information.
